Soccer Recap: Laurens Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clinton last Wednesday, Laurens came back down to earth. The Laurens Raiders lost 5-1 to the Southside Tigers on Thursday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Raiders were already down 4-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Noel Castro-Santos, which was the first he's scored this season.

Laurens now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Southside, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Laurens didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Wren on the 17th. Southside will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fountain Inn at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Southside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.3 goals per game this season.
