Basketball Recap: Amherst Comes Up Short

Amherst lost against St. Cecilia back in December of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Amherst Broncos took a blow against the St. Cecilia Bluehawks, falling 59-19. The match marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Libby Mitchell, Avery Cast, and Addy Simmons posted four points each.

Amherst has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for St. Cecilia, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amherst will host Gothenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Gothenburg will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Amherst surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Cecilia, they will square off against Fillmore Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
