Soccer Recap: Hays Comes Up Short

The matchup between Hays and Maize South on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Indians came up short against the Mavericks, falling 11-3. The loss continues a trend for Hays in their meetings with Maize South: they've now lost six in a row.

Hays' defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Maize South, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hays will head out to square off against Garden City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maize South, they will venture away from home to take on Bishop Carroll on Monday. Maize South will need to watch out since Bishop Carroll have now posted at least four goals every time they've taken the pitch this season.
