Bloomington has gone a perfect 4-0 against Rialto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Bloomington will challenge Rialto at 3:45 p.m. This will be Bloomington's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
Bloomington came into their game back in February off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-0 to Miller. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Bruins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Bloomington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Cienfuentes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Rialto had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Miller 13-1 on Thursday. The Knights not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th.
Arianna Munoz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Munoz was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Rialto let Milenni Rodriguez and Delilah Munoz run wild. Rodriguez scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Munoz went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Leah Villagomez, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Rialto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Miller only posted a batting average of .211.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Bloomington, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Bloomington skirted past Rialto 10-9 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomington since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
