Softball Recap: Auburn Takes a Loss

Auburn and Sparkman squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Auburn had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Senators by a score of 6-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Senators this season, with their most recent defeat being a 8-4 loss back in March.

Lily Brewer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Kate Penton, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

With the defeat, Auburn broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 28-18. As for Sparkman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 40-12-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Auburn nor Sparkman have any future games scheduled.
