Basketball Recap: Schley County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Central last Monday, Schley County came back down to earth. The Schley County Wildcats received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 58-43 to the Taylor County Vikings. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Schley County lost, don't look at Payton Goodin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Goodin's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Jamesen Hollomon was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Schley County's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Taylor County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Schley County has already played their next contest, a 40-39 loss against Marion County on the 13th. As for Taylor County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-54 defeat against Macon County on the 13th.
