Basketball Recap: Eisenhower's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Eisenhower's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They strolled past the Aldine Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 50-36. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Denise Vergara, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. Those 14 points gave Vergara a new career-high. Mireya Molina was another key player, putting up 11 points along with five assists and five boards.

Eisenhower's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-21. As for Aldine, they are on a 23-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-23.

Eisenhower and Aldine could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Eisenhower (ranked 1339th) will meet Westfield (ranked 304th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eisenhower is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Aldine will square off against Spring at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday down 848 places (1512 vs. 664).
