Baseball Recap: Lakewood Cougars vs. Kingston Buccaneers
Lakewood was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They skirted past the Kingston Buccaneers 4-3.
Graden Dunc made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dunc was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base was his first of the season.
Dunc wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Wolfe, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Lakewood's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Kingston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood will face off against Nooksack Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Pioneers at the right time seeing as the Pioneers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Kingston, they will take on North Mason at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
