Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Independence's Fourth in Last Five Outings

On Tuesday, the Independence Blue Devils earned a 56-48 win over the Chagrin Falls Tigers.

Chagrin Falls' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oscar Difranco, who posted 14 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Difranco a new career-high in assists (four). Spencer Kaas was another key player, putting up three points along with eight assists and five steals.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Chagrin Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

The future could be bright for both Independence and Chagrin Falls: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Independence will try to hand Lincoln West their fourth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls will look to extend Lakeside's three-game losing streak when the meet at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
