Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Coyotes vs. Liberty Redhawks

Heritage is 0-10 against Liberty since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Heritage Coyotes will head out on the road to face off against the Liberty Redhawks at 5:45 p.m.

On Tuesday, Heritage came up short against Memorial and fell 41-32. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Warriors are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, Liberty came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 41-11 victory over the Titans. The Redhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Liberty has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.7 points per game. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-17.

Heritage might still be hurting after the 50-28 loss they got from Liberty when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Heritage avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
