East Bakersfield entered their  matchup against Arvin  on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Blades fell just short of the Bears by a score of  3-2. The Blades were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in September of 2024.
 East Bakersfield actually scored more points across those five sets (106-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-21,  15-12.

 East Bakersfield's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Roxanna Ramirez, who  had 18  digs and two  aces. Ramirez is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's  played.  Kaylie Demison was another key player,  getting 24  digs and five  aces.
 Arvin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Kayleene Pantoja led the charge by  getting 21  digs and four  aces. That's the most  aces  Pantoja has posted  over her last nine  games.
The  defeat was their first  at home , dropping their record down to 9-4-1. As for Arvin, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6-2.
 Looking ahead, East Bakersfield will host Foothill  at 6:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Arvin, they have already played their next contest,  a  2-0  loss against Boron on the 12th.
