Basketball Recap: Red Cloud Crusaders vs. Rapid City Christian Comets
The Red Cloud Crusaders put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Rapid City Christian, posting a 73-30 victory at home. Red Cloud has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 24 points or more this season.
Red Cloud was led to victory by Jodene Hunter and Ashlan Carlow-Blount. Hunter scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Carlow-Blount scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Carlow-Blount is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kennedy Fridia was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Red Cloud pushed their record up to 15-0 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rapid City Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Red Cloud will head out on the road to challenge the Golddiggers on Saturday. Lead-Deadwood comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Rapid City Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
