While it was all tied up 21-21 at halftime, Velma Jackson was not quite Nanih Waiya's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Velma Jackson took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nanih Waiya.
Despite their loss, Velma Jackson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Joel Fleming, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Tate, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
McAdams aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Friday extended their overall winning streak to three. They strolled past Nanih Waiya with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Given McAdams' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Nanih Waiya is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Velma Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for McAdams, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Velma Jackson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-44 loss to McAdams in their previous matchup on January 9th.
