Softball Game Preview: Humboldt Wildcats vs. Eagle Grove Eagles

Humboldt is a perfect 4-0 against Eagle Grove since June of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m.

Humboldt is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Edmond.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Eagle Grove never let West Hancock get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Eagle Grove in their matchups with West Hancock: they've now won five in a row.

Eagle Grove now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Humboldt, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Humboldt skirted past Eagle Grove 7-6 in their previous matchup back in June of 2019. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
