Baseball Game Preview: Latexo Tigers vs. Lovelady Lions

Latexo is 0-10 against Lovelady since February of 2019 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Latexo Tigers face off against Lovelady Lions at 7:00 p.m. Latexo has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Latexo fell victim to Centerville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against Centerville, falling 11-0. Latexo just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.

Meanwhile, Lovelady didn't have quite enough to beat Normangee on Tuesday and fell 9-8.

Brady Mikes put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mikes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryder Lovell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Lovelady is 4-1 when Lovell posts two or more runs, but 7-8-1 otherwise. Cason Watson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Latexo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Lovelady, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9-1.
