Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

Lawrence County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lexington Golden Bears. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2019.

Lara Anne Norwood paced Lawrence County's offense, picking up five kills. Norwood got some help from Alivia Terry and her 11 assists. Norwood was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-16. As for Lexington, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-16 record.

Coming up, Lawrence County will welcome Loretto at 4:30 p.m. on October 2. As for Lexington, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Russellville on the 23rd.
