Soccer Game Preview: Piedmont vs. Jenks

Piedmont is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Thursday. They will be playing at home against the Jenks Trojans at 8:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Piedmont has three straight victories, Jenks has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Piedmont is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oklahoma's top teams: Southmoore, who was ranked 17th at the time (Piedmont was ranked 23rd). Piedmont sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Southmoore on Friday. That's two games straight that Piedmont have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Broken Arrow who was credited with the victory on Friday. Broken Arrow got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Jenks' three.

Jenks' loss dropped their record down to 1-6-3. As for Piedmont, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-1.
