 Churchill County has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  challenge the Spring Creek Spartans at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Churchill County gave their fans yet another huge  win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by  a  14-0 margin over Lowry.
  Brady Alves and  Trevor Hyde did most of the damage at the plate:  Alves  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Hyde  scored a  run while going 3-for-3.  Nathaniel Zackery was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-2.
 Meanwhile, Spring Creek entered their tilt with Fernley with 18 consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with 19. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vaqueros  on Saturday and snuck past  8-7.
  Dillon Payne was a major factor no matter where he played. He  struck out six batters over  6.1 innings while giving up  four earned  (and two unearned) runs off   seven  hits. Payne was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Payne wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Ethan DeFevre, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Norman House, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Churchill County pushed their record up to 19-5 with that  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. As for Spring Creek, their win bumped their record up to 24-1.
 Friday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Churchill County has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .496. However, it's not like Spring Creek struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .509. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Everything went Churchill County's way against Spring Creek when the teams last played  back in May of 2023 as Churchill County made off with  a  10-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Churchill County since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
