Volleyball Recap: Cheney Tech Comes Up Short

Cheney Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley. The Chargers were not able to make up for their defeat to Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-10, 25-14.

Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley can attribute much of their success to Christopher Hernandez, who had three aces and one block. What's more, Hernandez posted two digs, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

Cheney Tech's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Cheney Tech will challenge Academy of Science and Innovation at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley, they will be playing at home against Simsbury at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
