Lockwood took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Stockton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Lockwood had just enough and edged out Stockton 3-2. This was payback for Lockwood, who suffered a 10-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kallie Griffin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lockwood saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Whitesell, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Lockwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Stockton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockwood will host Rich Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stockton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Buffalo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
