Basketball Recap: Andover Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Andover couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Piper Pirates on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Trojans have lost by exactly 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Andover lost, don't look at Joshua Kim. Despite the final result, he shot 59% from the field to rack up 26 points. That's the most points Kim has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Walker McClellan, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Andover was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their first loss (out of 19 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

This is the second loss in a row for Andover and nudges their season record down to 20-5. As for Piper, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.

As of now, neither Andover nor Piper have any future games scheduled.
