Baseball Game Preview: Louisville Leopards vs. New Philadelphia Quakers

The Louisville Leopards will face off against the New Philadelphia Quakers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Louisville 4, New Philadelphia 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Louisville is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since May 16, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Lake Center Christian 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Leopards.

Cooper Rice was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Luke Seaman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, New Philadelphia never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Madison Comprehensive as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Louisville now has a winning record of 4-3. As for New Philadelphia, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Louisville came out on top in a nail-biter against New Philadelphia in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Leopards repeat their success, or do the Quakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
