Softball Recap: Taylor Yellowjackets vs. Finneytown Wildcats

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Taylor). They never let the Finneytown Wildcats get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Thursday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 12 runs or more this season.

Ellie Stafford made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emma King, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ady Franke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
