Softball Recap: Antelope Takes a Loss

Antelope extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 4-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the McQueen Lancers. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by just one run.

Deanna Richardson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Jillian Todd was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

As for McQueen, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch.

On McQueen's side, Violet Moyao was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Moyao was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Vanessa Bein was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Montana Huitt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Antelope didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Pleasant Valley on the 15th. As for McQueen, they have also already played their next matchup, a 5-2 win against Non Varsity Opponent on the 15th.
