Softball Recap: Hobbs Drops Season-High Score on Clovis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hobbs). They put the hurt on the Clovis Wildcats with a sharp 20-2 win on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Maryna Valenzuela looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Hobbs got a massive performance out of Angel Jimenez, who went 1-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Jimenez has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiya Boyle, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Hobbs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clovis only posted an OBP of .286.

Hobbs' record now sits at 12-10. As for Clovis, their loss was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-22.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hobbs beat the Wildcats by a score of 18-3 later that day.
