Baseball Game Preview: Holland Hornets vs. Granger Lions

The Holland Hornets will challenge the Granger Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Holland fell victim to Rosebud-Lott and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 23-0 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Holland got a good showing from Colin Hall, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Hall gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, Granger started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Thorndale. They came up short against the Bulldogs last Tuesday, falling 18-4.

Granger saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Good, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Good launched this season. Tre Castillo was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Holland has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's still a better percentage than their 4-19 record this season. As for Granger, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
