Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends West-Oak's Winning Streak

West-Oak lost against Rabun County back in December of 2014 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West-Oak Warriors fell 56-48 to the Rabun County Wildcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 44th in South Carolina, while the Wildcats are ranked 222nd in Georgia).

Despite the loss, West-Oak still got an impressive performance from Reagan Mobley, who went 6 for 8 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Burgess, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points and six boards.

With the defeat, West-Oak broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2. As for Rabun County, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

West-Oak will be playing in front of their home fans against Powdersville at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Rabun County, they will take on Hayesville in a tournament on Friday.
