Softball Recap: Casey-Westfield Snags 17th Win in Last 19 Games

Casey-Westfield won the last time they faced Hutsonville/Palestine and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors blew past the Tigers 15-2. Considering the Warriors have won 19 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Casey-Westfield let Gabriela Frye and Allyson Truelove run wild. Frye went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Truelove went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four runs gave Frye a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Ring, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Casey-Westfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hutsonville/Palestine only posted an OBP of .231.

Casey-Westfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hutsonville/Palestine, they moved to 11-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Casey-Westfield will venture away from home to challenge Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
