Holy Cross' usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Pearsall hitters got past them. Holy Cross took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pearsall last Monday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ariel Bosman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Mia Tobar also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Meanwhile, Kenedy hadn't done well against Falls City recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Kenedy was the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over Falls City. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Kayla Salas was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Villanueva, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4.
Kenedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Kenedy and bumps their season record up to 6-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holy Cross hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .471. However, it's not like Kenedy struggles in that department as they've averaged .565. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
