Recap: Johnson Jaguars vs. Austin Maroons
It was a good run, but the Johnson Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 52-38 bruising from Austin. Johnson has struggled against Austin recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Kemah Shaw was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with two steals for Austin. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shaw has scored all season. Foley Anderson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Johnson now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Austin, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-18 record this season.
Johnson will head out on the road to challenge Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowie is on a six-game streak of home wins, Johnson a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Austin will take on Akins at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Akins is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
