Rigby and Highland are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Trojans will face off against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rigby has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Rigby is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Blackfoot 16-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted against the Broncos since March 17, 2017.

The team relied heavily on Madison Jensen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Samantha Bishop, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Rigby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Highland faced Thunder Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Rams lost 7-1 to the Titans. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost eight in a row.
Reece Bybee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Janae Whitehead also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Rigby, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rigby hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
