Softball Recap: Hustisford/Dodgeland vs. Brookfield Academy Blue Knights
Hustisford/Dodgeland had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 15-0 to the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights.
For Brookfield Academy's part, Julia Van Bogart was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Van Bogart was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Ella Thompson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Christina Burghardt, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
