Recap: Detroit Eagles vs. Cooper Bulldogs
The Detroit Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 43-12 loss at the hands of Cooper. Detroit lost against Cooper in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-22 score last time.
Cooper found their leader in underclassman Jequan Brown, who scored 9 points along with 7 steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kayden Helms, who scored 3 points along with 5 steals.
Detroit's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cooper, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Detroit will be playing in front of their home fans against Excel Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooper is on the road again on Saturday and play against Fouke at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. Fouke presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cooper in their respective states (Fouke is ranked 98th in Arkansas, while Cooper is ranked 861st in Texas).
