Recap: Charleston Trojans vs. Mt. Zion Braves
After flying high against the Effingham Flaming Hearts last Tuesday, the Charleston Trojans came back down to earth. Charleston ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-42 walloping at the hands of Mt. Zion on Wednesday. Charleston has struggled against Mt. Zion recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Charleston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mikey Myers. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Myers has scored all season. Adam Rudibaugh was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Charleston has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for Mt. Zion, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 26-1.
Charleston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-49 loss vs. Marshall on the 9th. Mt. Zion has also already played their next matchup, a 68-38 victory against Mattoon on the 9th.
