Brycen Palmquist leads a balanced attack to beat Chase County

Recap: Council Grove Braves vs. Chase County Bulldogs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lyndon, the Council Grove Braves were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They secured a 59-53 W over Chase County. This was payback for Council Grove, who suffered a 53-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Council Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brycen Palmquist, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kolby Rose, who scored 12 points along with five steals.

Council Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. As for Chase County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Council Grove's road trip will continue as they head out to face Halstead at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Halstead is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Chase County, they will head out on the road to challenge Peabody-Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Peabody-Burns will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Chase County is ranked 132nd).
