Basketball Recap: American History Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

American History extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Ihjamir Williams. The American History Eagles walked away with a 52-45 win over Great Oaks on Saturday thanks in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 20 times he's played.

Ah'Zeah Woodard was another key player, putting up three points in addition to seven steals and five assists. He is becoming a predictor of American History's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 14-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

American History's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Great Oaks, they dropped their record down to 7-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, American History will venture away from home to challenge East Side at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. American History is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. As for Great Oaks, they will welcome ASPIRA Charter at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Great Oaks is facing ASPIRA Charter at the right time seeing as ASPIRA Charter is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
