Baseball Recap: Atkins Takes a Loss

Atkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Two Rivers Gators. Even if the Red Devils couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Cooper Goodall was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Jaxson Koenigseder was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Atkins' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Two Rivers, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Atkins is set to take on their familiar foe Glen Rose at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Two Rivers will square off against rival Dover at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
