Baseball Recap: Brandywine Find Success

While Brandywine's win against Dowagiac wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Chieftains 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Chieftains: they've now won seven in a row.

Ryder Richard made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Richard wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaeden Warfield, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Warfield is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

Brandywine's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Dowagiac, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brandywine beat the Chieftains by a score of 9-3 later that day.
