Basketball Recap: Beaverton Takes a Loss

Beaverton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 68-41 defeat at the hands of the Churchill Lancers. The contest marked the Beavers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Churchill to victory were Ty Read and Jace Litten. Read dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards, while Litten went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayshawn Wright, who made all 5 shots he took to post 13 points.

Beaverton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Churchill, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Beaverton and Churchill could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. Beaverton (ranked 166th) will meet McNary (ranked 19th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Churchill (ranked 89th) will meet Southridge (ranked third) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
