Recap: Fort Hancock Mustangs vs. Mountain View Lobos
It was a good run, but the Fort Hancock Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 42-34 to Mountain View.
Despite the loss, Fort Hancock still got an impressive performance from Marisol Diaz, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. The matchup was Diaz's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alessandra Jimenez, who scored 7 points along with 23 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ximena Delgado, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. Delgado hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jisell Huizar, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Fort Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Fort Hancock's road trip will continue as they head out to face Clint at 10:30 a.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Clint focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Mountain View, they will square off against Canutillo at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Canutillo's defense has only allowed 24.7 points per game this season, so Mountain View's offense will have their work cut out for Mountain View.
