Recap: Fredonia Lynx vs. Williams Vikings
The Fredonia Lynx lost against the Williams Vikings back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Fredonia took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williams. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fredonia in their matchups with Williams: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading Williams to victory were Fern Chatters and Kai Mortensen. Chatters dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Mortensen dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Mortensen is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. Kenzie Orozco was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven rebounds.
Fredonia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Williams, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fredonia will take on Beaver Dam at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaver Dam comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Williams, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Joseph City at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th.
