Preview: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. Hayes Pacers
The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Hayes Pacers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Worthington Kilbourne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Worthington Kilbourne unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They fell just short of Dublin Scioto by a score of 50-48.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Brylan Brown, who scored 11 points. Zach Wolford was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Worthington Kilbourne struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, even though Westerville North scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Hayes still came out on top. Hayes escaped with a win against Westerville North by the margin of a single free throw, 59-58. The win was all the more spectacular given Hayes' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Westerville North is ranked second).
Worthington Kilbourne's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Hayes, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Worthington Kilbourne was taken down by Hayes 68-36 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Worthington Kilbourne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
