Soccer Game Preview: Monroe vs. Shorewood

The Monroe Bearcats will face off against the Shorewood Stormrays at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Monroe comes in on 11 and Shorewood on six.

Monroe's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Marysville Getchell 3-0. Monroe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Shorewood was able to grind out a solid victory over Edmonds-Woodway on Tuesday, taking the game 2-0. Shorewood's winning goal came courtesy of Morgan Grutz.

Monroe's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Shorewood, their win bumped their record up to 15-2-1.
