Baseball Recap: Decatur Central Gets the Win

While Decatur Central's win against Whiteland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Warriors on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Braylon Brent looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Drew Dalton, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Decatur Central is 3-1 when Dalton posts three or more hits, but 6-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Markus, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Decatur Central's record is now 9-10. As for Whiteland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.
