Baseball Preview: Mechanicville Red Raiders vs. Stillwater Warriors        
        
		
            The Mechanicville Red Raiders will face off against the Stillwater Warriors at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Mechanicville took a eight-run  loss the last time they faced off against Beekmantown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Red Raiders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-4  win over the Eagles  on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Red Raiders have posted  since April 7th.
Meanwhile, Stillwater had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They blew past the Fordians 9-2.
 Avery Murray was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those  14  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Colden McDonagh was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Kaden Burdo, who  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.
 Stillwater pushed their record up to 5-9 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Mechanicville, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
 Mechanicville took their  victory against Stillwater  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  27-7 score. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success,  or do  the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
