Basketball Game Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. Argenta-Oreana Bombers

The Heritage Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Argenta-Oreana Bombers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Last Monday, Heritage didn't have too much trouble with Unity Christian as they won 50-33.

Heritage relied on the efforts of Maegan Frye, who went 5 of 11 en route to 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals, and Addison Hopper, who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Hopper a new career-high in boards. Brooklynn Powell was another key player, putting up nine points.

Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Argenta-Oreana played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 59-37 to Arcola. The defeat continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Purple Riders: they've now lost nine in a row.

Argenta-Oreana's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Heritage might still be hurting after the 47-24 defeat they got from Argenta-Oreana in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Heritage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
