Volleyball Recap: Newton South Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bedford on Thursday, Newton South came back down to earth. The Lions came up short against the Brookline Warriors on Friday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Newton South was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-19.

Newton South's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Brookline, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Newton South will square off against Acton-Boxborough at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brookline, they will face off against Walpole at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
