Softball Recap: Linden Has No Trouble Against Clinton

Linden had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Clinton on Saturday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Redwolves. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 20 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Morgan Piotrovsky (2025) and Sophia Helm (2025) did most of the damage at the plate: Piotrovsky (2025) went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Helm (2025) got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Helm (2025) has posted over her last 11 games. Another player making a difference was Addi Siegwald (2027), who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Linden's record is now 26-3. As for Clinton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-6 record.

Coming up, Linden will take on Lakeland at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lakeland will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Clinton, they are taking a road trip to take on Hudson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Redwolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
