Palo Duro lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Canyon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Dons took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dons.

Leading Palo Duro to victory were Raymond Johnson and Kyron Brown. Johnson rushed for 108 yards on only 15 carries, while Brown rushed for 63 yards.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Palo Duro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon only rushed for 120 rushing yards.

Palo Duro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Keima'J Barnes, Darien Lewis, and Noah Fargoza picked up one apiece. Fargoza is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Canyon's side was Keimaure Rayford, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles.

Palo Duro now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-1.

Coming up, Palo Duro will challenge Amarillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dons will need to watch out since the Sandies have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Canyon, they will square off against Caprock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
