Basketball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Comes Up Short

Model Secondary School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 56-33 to the Clinton Grace Christian Eagles. While losing is never fun, Model Secondary School for the Deaf can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 86th in District of Columbia, while Clinton Grace Christian is ranked 21st in Maryland).

When it comes to explaining why Model Secondary School for the Deaf lost, don't look at Mattea King. Despite the final result, she posted five points along with 13 boards and five steals. King has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Clinton Grace Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles challenge the Field Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Clinton Grace Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Springdale Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
